She is the granddaughter of Malayalam film actor S P Pillai. Later she got married to the serial cine-artist Mukundan Menon and got divorced.

After that, she got hitched to Sujith Vassudev on 23rd December 2000. The couple has a daughter named Daya Sujith.

Manju Pillai was very interested in acting and dancing since childhood. She made her acting debut through the television serial ‘Sathyavum Mithyayum.’ She acted in television advertisements and appeared in many stage shows.

After that, she appeared in many serials and entered the film industry. Now she appears in television shows as a judge and mentor.
