Manjari is a renowned Indian playback singer, live performer, music producer, and Hindustani vocalist. Her musical genres are Film, Pop, Ghazal, Classical, and Bhajan. Manjari Career Journey

The first stage performance of Manjari was in 1999 when she was in 8th standard. She performed the program along with Shiva, a Kolkata-based rock band. She was active in her career since 2004. She became debuted through the film by Sathyan Anthikkad titled “Achuvinte Amma.”

Ilaiyaraaja introduced her to the world of film music. She sang two songs in the movie “Achuvinte Amma”, a solo ‘Thamarakuruvikku’ and a duet with Dr. K J Yesudas. After this performance, she became very popular among the people.

She worked along with Ilaiyaraaja, M.G Radhakrishnan, M. Jayachandran, Kaithapram Viswanathan, Ramesh Narayanan, Mohan Sithara, Ouseppachan, and Johnson Master. She sang the song ‘Mazhayil Aro Oral’ for Balabhaskar’s album. She sang more than five hundred songs for movies. She practiced Hindustani classical concerts since childhood.

She gained popularity among people as a ‘Ghazal Singer.’ She performed a program titled “Khayal” which is telecasted on Media One TV. She made her own band for Ghazal concerts and performs at various venues across India and abroad.

In 2007 she sang a Bhajan song, ‘Mazhavillin Neelima’ for the movie “Hello”, ‘Kaiyetha kombathu’ for the film “Vinodhayaathra”, ‘Muttathe Mulle Chollu’ for the movie “Maayavi” and ‘Aalilayum’ for the movie “Veeralippattu.’

In 2008 she performed the song ‘Orikkal Nee Paranju’ for the movie “Positive”, ‘Mullulla Murikkinmel’ for the film “Vilapangalkkappuram” and ‘Urangaan Nee Enikku’ for the movie “Novel.”

She sang the songs ‘Ambum Kombum’, ‘Magic Magic’, Mandara Manavatty’, ‘Mukkutti Chand’, ‘Nirathinkale’, ‘Kaattoram’ for the movies “Pazhassi Raja”, “Love in Singapore”, “Bharya Swantham Suhruthu”, Chattambinaadu”, “My Big Father” and “Vellathooval” respectively in 2009.

In 2010 she performed the songs ‘Thenundo Poove’, ‘Manjaadi Choppulla’, and ‘Thamara Valaya’ for the movies “Yakshiyum Njaanum”, “Plus Two’ and “Holidays” respectively.

In 2011 she sang the song ‘Chinni Chinni’ for the movie “Urumi.” Later she performed many songs like ‘Innu Penninu’, ‘Kaatte Nee Kando’, ‘Manasse’ and ‘Naanam Chaalicha’ for the films “China Town”, “Raghuvinte Swantham Rasiya”, “Paachuvum Kovaalanum” and “Vellaripravinte Changaathi.”

In 2012 she performed as a singer in many films like “Arike”, “Naughty Professor”, “Maanthrikan”, “My Boss” etc.
In 2013 she sang the songs ‘Poothumbi Vaa’, and ‘Dooram Theere’ for the films “Thomson Villa”, “Radio” and “Pakaram.”

In 2014 she performed as a singer in two movies, they are “How Old Are You” and “ Avarude Veedu”.

In 2015 she sang for the movies “Anarkali”, “Njan Samvidhaanam Cheyyum” and “Chirakodinja Kinaavukal.”

In 2016 she performed in the films, “Puthiya Niyamam” and “King Liar.” The song ‘Engane Padendu’ is one from the film “Cappuccino” in 2017.

In 2018 she performed as a singer in “My Story” and “Thattinpurath Achuthan.” In she sang the songs ‘Vanchi Bhoomi Pathe’ and ‘Tharapadam Padum’ for the films “Pathinettam Padi” and “March Randaam Vyaazham.”

Awards

Manjari won many awards and recognitions as a playback singer. In 2004 and 2008 she won the Kerala State Film Award for the song ‘Mukilin Makale’ and ‘Mullulla Murikkinmel’ for the movies “Makallku” and “Vilapangalkkappuram.”

She got Asianet Film Award in 2006 for Best Playback Singer for the movie “Rasathanthram.” She won Mathrubhumi Film Awards in 2006 and in 2012 for the songs in the movies “Karuthapakshikal” and “Urumi.”
She won Kerala Film Critics Association Awards in 2012 and 2019 for the songs ‘Chinni Chinni’ and ‘Thaarapadam Paadum.’
She was awarded many honors for the song ‘Chinni Chinni’ in the movie “Urumi.” She won Vanitha Film Awards, Ramu Kariat Film Awards, Surya Film Producers Awards, Amrita Film Awards, JaiHind Film Awards, Filmfare Awards, etc.
In 2016 she won Sahir and International Award for her contributions to Ghazala and in the Urdu language.

Manjari’s Marriage

Manjari got married to Vivek and later divorced. On 24th June 2022, she tied the knot with her childhood friend fiancé Jerin. The wedding was held on today morning. After the marriage, Manjari and Jerin visited the Magic Academy to celebrate the occasion with differently-abled children.
