Divya S Iyer started her career as a doctor. Later she began a civil service career. In 2014 she joined IAS as an Assistant Collector of Kottayam. After that, she was appointed as the SubCollector of Thiruvananthapuram.
In 2016 she was selected as the nodal officer of Systematic Voter Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) and she created a voter awareness campaign with the motto ‘My Vote My Future.’

She wrote and performed the song ‘Viral Thumbil Nammude Bhaavi’ to create awareness of voting rights among the people.

In 2018 she was appointed as the Deputy Secretary of the Local Self-Government Department.
