After high school education Chef Pillai worked as a waiter at the Chef King Restaurant Kollam. At this time he was only 17 years old. Later he was appointed as a part-time chef and he studied the basic cooking skills from there.

After three years he joined as a chef at Casino Hotel in Calicut and learnt the Malabar cuisines. In 1998 he was appointed as the head chef in a restaurant at Coconut Grove, Bangalore.

He learnt all cooking skills and different varieties of South Indian Cuisines like Chettinad, Konkani and Coorgi.

Later he was appointed as the chef at the Hotel Leela Palace in Bangalore. From 2005 onwards he worked at the different restaurants in London.

Now he worked at the ‘Raviz Hotel’ and ‘Restaurant of Chef Pillai’ as the corporate chef and culinary director.

He is salso worked as the guest chef and guest lecturer at University of Bahamans Culinary and Hospitall Management Institute.

Recently he started his own restaurants named ‘Restaurant Chef Pillai’ in Bangalore and hotel ‘Le Meridian’ in Kochi.

Television Shows

Chef Suresh Pillai participated in television cookery shows as a contestant and host. In 2017 he participated in a British television reality show titled ‘MasterChef: The Professional.’ This show was telecasted on BBC Two.

In 2021 he presented the appearance of a guest in the Malayalam TV serial named ‘Mounaragam’ and played the role of a cookery show judge.

He also participated in the television show ‘Flowers Oru Kodi’ ancjored by Sreekandan Nair and premiered in Flowers channel.

He wasinvited as the judge in the TV show titled ‘Kutti Kalavara Seniors’ telecasted in Flowers channel.

His acting debut was made through the Malayalam film “Cheena Trophy” directed by Anil Lal and this film was expected to be released soon.
