He completed schooling at a government school in Kottayam. Later he joined t Naval Academy in Goa, India.
Early Life and Career
He started his career as a commissioner at Naval Academy in 2000. In 2002 he completed flying training and qualified as a maritime reconnaissance pilot on the Dornier 228.
In 2011 he represented India in International events such as ‘Cape Town to Rio Race’ and in 2014’s ‘Spanish Copa del Rey race’ and ‘Korea Cups.’
And in 2013 he was the first Indian to complete a solo-non-stop circumnavigation of the world under sail. In 2018 he completed the ‘Golden Globe Race.’
On 10th January 2021, he retired from the service and he wanted to participate in the Golden Globe Race of 2022.
Awards and Honours
In 2013 he won the ‘Kirti Chakra’ and in 2019 he received the ‘Nau Sena Medal.’ He achieved the ‘YAI Offshore Sailor of the Year’ in 2009, 2013, and 2018.
In 2013 he procured the ‘Amrita TV Award’ for outstanding Human Endurance and Courage.
After that, he received the ‘Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Award’, ‘Mac Gregor Medal for military reconnaissance’ (2013), ‘CNS Commendation’ (2009), ‘National Maritime Foundation Award’, etc.
