At that time he belongs to the Communist Party of India. Later he was elected to Lok Sabha in 1999 and ended in 2009.
In 2009 he was removed from the Communist Party of India and joined at Indian National Congress, which continued till 2019. Later was expelled from the party and joined at Bharatiya Janata
Party.
